FRUCALL RESEARCH

How we find and research coupon codes for shoppers

FruCall is built around a simple idea: shoppers should not have to work through a pile of stale coupon codes to find a real saving. We research the offer, look for authentic supporting information and use first-hand experience when practical before presenting an offer with a verification signal.

Authenticity firstWe prefer evidence that can be traced back to the store and the actual promotion.
First-hand when practicalWe try to experience the offer as a shopper would, including checkout testing when appropriate.
No dead-code dumpingOur goal is to show useful active offers, not inflate a page with codes our evidence indicates are invalid.

WHERE OUR RESEARCH STARTS

We look for evidence, not just coupon strings

A code found online is not automatically a useful coupon. We try to understand where it came from, what it applies to and whether the available evidence supports showing it to shoppers.

Official and first-party sources

We start as close to the source as possible: a store's own website, promotion pages, pricing pages, public terms and other first-party information that can explain what an offer actually includes.

First-hand experience

Where practical, we visit the store and follow the shopper journey ourselves. We may inspect the promotion, add an eligible item or plan to a cart, enter a code and check whether the expected discount appears before payment.

Offer terms and context

We look beyond the headline discount. Product eligibility, minimum spend, customer type, region, billing period, expiration information and renewal conditions can determine whether a coupon is genuinely useful.

Freshness and rechecking

Coupon availability changes. We use check dates and recent activity to help distinguish current evidence from an old promotion that may no longer be useful.

FROM DISCOVERY TO VERIFICATION

How a coupon moves through our research process

01

Find

Identify a potential code or automatic promotion and trace it to the strongest available evidence.

02

Review

Read the conditions and determine what the offer claims to provide, who may qualify and what restrictions are known.

03

Test when practical

Use first-hand checkout experience when a test can be performed responsibly without completing an unnecessary purchase.

04

Classify

Keep verified offers, automatic deals and shopper-reported signals distinct instead of presenting every discovery as equally certain.

05

Recheck

Use new evidence and shopper feedback to reassess offers as promotions change.

06

Remove or stop presenting invalid offers as active

When our evidence indicates that a code is expired, invalid or no longer an active offer, our goal is to keep it out of the active recommendations shown to shoppers.

FIRST-HAND EXPERIENCE

We try to see what the shopper sees

When practical, research goes beyond reading a coupon description. We may visit the merchant, select an eligible product or plan, proceed through the cart and enter the coupon before payment. This can help us see whether a code is recognized, whether the advertised saving appears and whether important restrictions become visible during checkout.

Not every offer can be tested in every possible situation. Some promotions require a specific account, region, customer history, payment method or completed purchase. When first-hand testing is not practical, we rely on the strongest available evidence and avoid implying a level of certainty we do not have.

WHY THIS HELPS YOU

Research should save the shopper time

Less time trying dead codes

Our research is designed to reduce the need to copy and test a long list of questionable codes.

Clearer restrictions

When useful conditions are available, we want you to know them before spending time building a cart.

Evidence you can judge

Verification status, check dates and community activity provide context instead of asking you to trust a discount headline alone.

Better checkout decisions

We encourage you to compare the expected discount with the actual final total, especially for subscriptions and offers with renewal pricing.

We do not want invalid codes in your active offer list

FruCall does not intentionally share a code as an active recommendation when our available evidence shows that it is invalid or expired. If a code fails during our research or later evidence shows that it is no longer useful, our goal is to remove it from active recommendations or update its status rather than keep presenting it as a working coupon.

Coupon conditions can still change after our latest check, which is why we show freshness and encourage shoppers to confirm the discount in their own checkout.

Shopper reports are useful, but they are not the same as verification

A worked or failed report can tell us about another shopper's recent experience. We use that feedback as an additional signal while keeping it separate from our own verification information. A code that worked for one account may not work for another because eligibility, products, location and timing can differ.

Our research has limits

No coupon database can guarantee that a promotion will remain unchanged after it is checked. Merchants control their prices, inventory, eligibility and promotion rules. The final store checkout is therefore the source of truth for the amount you pay. FruCall's role is to give you better evidence and context before you get there.
